Personal Safety Curriculum
Our Religious Education program is using "TAT: A Personal Safety Curriculum" for Grades 1-4 and the "Keeping Children Safe" from the Michigan Model Health Program as mandated by the Archdiocese of Boston. These programs teach children skills that will help keep them safe from dangerous or abusive situations. Children also learn to ask for help when they need it. These safety strategies will be taught in the context of God our Creator wants each one of us to be safe and to care for each other by obeying His commandments.
Details of the programs and the materials to be taught during Religious Education are available in the Religious Education office. Parents will receive a detailed letter before the start of the first "Safety Saturday". Parents can choose to opt out of this program by signing and "Opt-out" letter that will be kept on file at the Religious Education Office.
The "What Do I Say Now, How to Help Portect Your Child from Sexual Abuse" video was produced for parents and guardians to help empower their children to be safe and is available for loan at the Religious Education office.
